Hello all!
Here are some share details for the 2012 season of Piney Mountain Orchard,
The season will last 25 weeks, from the first full week of June until November, and there will be 10 full sized shares for sale, $550 each. Half shares will be available and will consist of biweekly pickups for 12 weeks, for $300. Deposits of $200 reserve your share, and payment plans are available.
Because of the limited number of shares available, I am willing to work with members to offer either a very convenient pick up or delivery if the geography is reasonable. Members that are able to pick up their shares on the farm will get a slightly discounted rate ($500 for full, $275 for half).
The weekly share will consist of 8-10 high quality produce items (ex. of items include a head of lettuce, a bunch of beets, or pint of cherry tomatoes). There will be simple recipes and tips with each box that will help you enjoy all of your vegetables, including strategies for preservation when the mid-summer bounty comes.
Piney Mountain Orchard is located in Gardners, PA (a halfway point between Carlisle & Gettysburg). You will have ample opportunities to visit the farm including member picnics and open volunteer days,
and I pledge to keep the blog updated with news, recipes, and pictures as the season progresses.
Speaking of seasonal progression, please check back for a post about the seed order in the next week (or so) to preview the availability and variety of produce for the farm.
